Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) (JVM) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) described the Railway budget presented by Union Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda as "disappointing" and ignored the backward state like Jharkhand.
A backward state like Jharkhand has been totally ignored in the railway budget, which turned out to be disappointing budget for the people of Jharkhand, said former MP, Dr Ajay Kumar.
The railways has an important role to play in the development of a state but the government has betrayed the people of the state on the pretext of introducing bullet train, speed trains, public-private partnership mode for the development of railways etc, Kumar said in a statement here.
BJP government has already exhibited its insensitivity by increasing the passenger fare and it was meaningless to expect anything good from them, he claimed.
JVM leader has highlighted several projects he had bagged for the people of this region during his tenure as a Member of Parliament whereas the present BJP MP from the steel city failed miserably in this regard from his own government at centre.
Meanwhile, AAP accused the Narendra Modi-government for making mockery with the people of the state by ignoring it totally.
AAP's convenor, Kumar Chandra Mardi in a statement said the government has already increased the passenger fare, prices of petrol, diesel, hitting hard the commonman.
AAP would strongly oppose the government move to encourage FDI and privatization of railways, Mardi announced while describing the railway budget presented by the anti-people government as "failed budget".
