K K Khandelwal elected head of Bharat Scouts and Guides

The national council of Bharat Scouts and Guides today elected K K Khandelwal as its chief national commissioner.
Khandelwal, an IAS officer of 1985 batch from Haryana, is currently the organisations's state chief commissioner.
Khandelwal was elected at a special national council meeting of the organisation here today.
Khandelwal is also the additional chief secretary to the Haryana government and chairman of the Haryana Pollution Control Board.
Bharat Scouts and Guides has around seven million members.
More than 150 members from all over the country representing various states and Union territories, railways and other organisations participated in the meeting.
It is for the first time in the recent past that the chief national commissioner has been elected unopposed, a statement said.

Khandelwal assured the scouting fraternity that he would leave no stone unturned for the growth and development of scouting in the country, the statement added.
