Prices of kabuli gram and other pulses spurted by up to Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market on brisk buying by stockists following upsurge in demand from retailers.
Traders said persistent buying by stockists, driven by rising demand from retailers against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up kabuli gram small and other pulses prices.
Fresh enquiries from dal mills also fuelled the uptrend, they said.
