Remember the errand boy who used to take "running hot water" for Vidya Balan in 'Kahaani'?
Well, that child is now a class XII student and maker of a short film titled 'Bumper' which is being screened at the 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival here.
Rwitobroto Mukherjee's 14-minute short film is about two incidents taking place on an empty city road back-to-back involving a taxi and two students.
"I had planned the project three years back and am honoured that Bumper is part of the short film section of 23rd KIFF," Rwitobroto told PTI.
'Bumper' is included in the Competition on Indian Short Films section.
"To see my own film on big screen among other invited delegates and mediapersons gives a new high. Making a short film is the precursor to my next big step, a bigger project," Rwitobroto, son of veteran Bengali actor Shantilal Mukherjee, said.
"After the screening at KIFF, we have plans to take the film to some other film festivals including short film festivals. It will be posted on YouTube later on," he said.
Shantilal said Rwitobroto had shown me the script three years ago and I thought it has the potential."
Rwitobroto was also part of the cast in Anindyo Chattopadhyay's directorial debut 'Open Tee Bioscope' which was a Shoojit Sircar production.
