An all party citizen's public meeting held at Gandhi Chowk last night resolved to continue fight for the rights of the poor people. Kalahandi Sikhya Vikas Parishad will take lead of the movement.
Speakers, unanimously demanded for establishment of Agriculture University in Kalahandi and urged the state government to take positive steps early in this regard. It was stressed that in the field of agriculture production in different crops Kalahandi is a leading district in the state and Indravati project has brought green revolution in the district.
Speakers also alleged that earlier on different occasions Kalahandi has been deprived of its legitimate right to have different institutions. Earlier the proposed Central University was set up elsewhere despite viability in Kalahandi, pointed out Gopabandhu Behera, the president of Kalahandi Sikhya Vikas Parishad.
