Nearly 30 idols of the deity have already been immersed at the makeshift ponds on Kathjodi riverbed near Devi Gada till late in the evening and police said the remaining idols would be immersed by the night.
Looking at the 10 pm deadline for use of loudspeakers by the music troupes accompanying the procession party, the puja committees are trying their best to meet the deadline.
This year, at least 70 puja mandaps of the city had worshipped the clay idols of Goddess Kali throughout the city and every mandap has made elaborate arrangement to bring out majestic procession party for the immersion festival.
