Kanaram, who got 3,575 votes, defeated his nearest rival Shefali Meena of NSUI by a margin of 1,249 votes.
Shewta Yadav and Manish Kumar Meena, both of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, were elected as vice president and joint secretary respectively, while NSUI candidate Abhimanyu Poonia was elected as the general secretary of RUSU.
Polling for various posts of the students union took place in government universities and colleges across the state earlier in the day.
Dausa MP and BJP rebel Kirori Meena had also fielded his candidate Rajesh Mandia under the banner of his party NPPSU for the post of RUSU president. Mandia could manage 1098 votes only.
Elections in remaining areas held peacefully.
At Jaipur, where one of the main universities - Rajasthan University - is located, police had detained 70 students during polling as a precautionary measure.
