Roshan Jacob, DM, Kanpur, asked for fixed interval of power cuts in the city owing to the problems faced by the people, especially the Muslims who are fasting during Ramzaan, in a letter sent to the power ministry yesterday.
The official noted that owing to the sensitive nature of the city and the commencement of Ramzan, a new roaster for power cuts was formulated as per which electricity is cut from 5 to 6 and 10 to 11 in the morning as well as 1 to 3 in the afternoon. However, apart from the roaster, abrupt power shortages are being reported from the area, the letter added.
