Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who will be seen in the remake version of yesteryear murder mystery "Ittefaq", says she has not seen the original film, as producer Karan Johar has advised her against it.
The 29-year-old actress will start shooting in January next year and is said to be paired with Sidharth Malhotra in the remake of the 1969 movie that had late Rajesh Khanna and veteran actress Nanda in the lead.
"Comparisons will be made between the original and remake version. People from our generation haven't seen the original film so for them it would be new film. There are several changes being made in terms of script, keeping in mind today's generation," Sonakshi told PTI.
"I haven't seen the original...So for me its a new experience. Karan Johar has told me not to see it," she said.
The remake is being produced by Red Chillies, Dharma Productions and BR films. However, details of who else will be cast with Sonakshi as the male lead is still unclear.
When prodded about Sidharth, the actress said, "it (pairing) is a mystery for everyone. I will keep it under wraps. It could be a pairing or it couldn't be. It's too early to share anything."
However, Sidharth had earlier said that he is not romantically paired opposite Sonakshi in the film.
