CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat and CPI National Secretary D Raja are expected to share the dais here and in Tirupur on April 14, seeking votes for their party candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
While CPI(M) has fielded its sitting MP, P R Natarajan in Coimbatore, former MP, K Subbarayan is contesting from Tirupur as the CPI candidate.
Since the day is a holiday on account of Tamil New Year and it is also the birthday of Dr B R Ambedkar, parties expect a good turnout for the rallies, to be addressed by these leaders, sources in both parties said.
Karat and Raja would first address Tirupur rally and then in Coimbatore, which has a significant presence of labourers and industrial workers, they said.
