State-owned NMDC on Tuesday said the Karnataka government has withdrawn the approval accorded to the firm to extend mining lease period for the Donimalai iron ore mine.
"Government of Karnataka...has inter-alia, communicated that they have withdrawn the approval accorded...to extend the mining lease period of NMDC Ltd, bearing ML No 2396 at Donimalai and auction the said block," NMDC said in a filing to the BSE.
In this regard, the iron ore producer said it has filed revision application against the Karnataka government's said order with the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and the hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, the firm added.
"The company has also requested the Government of Karnataka to withdraw its letter dated 17.08.2019/keep it in abeyance," the filing said.
