Riding high on their all-round performance, defending champions Karnataka would look to continue the unbeaten run when they take on an equally strong Baroda side in their Group A Ranji Trophy cricket match here tomorrow.
The hosts have been on a roll, posting consecutive outright victories in the first four matches before garnering three vital points in the last encounter against Madhya Pradesh on the basis of the first-innings lead.
Karnataka are placed at the top of the table with 28 points from five matches, while Baroda have so far collected fifteen points from as many ties to be placed at third position after registering one win and four draws.
Karnataka have been slaking their growing thirst with brilliant performances coming from the blades of Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey, besides a glorious 124 from the lower-order bowling-allrounder Shreyas Gopal in the previous encounter against Madhya Pradesh. The rookie had earlier also showcased his batting ability when he scored an unbeaten 58 against Jammu and Kashmir.
Uthappa smashed a speedy 156 off 202 ball against J&K, besides scoring three fifties so far including a 97-run knock against Railways.
Also in great form is Pandey, who hit a fantastic 193 against Madhya Pradesh, and he would like to carry on the form along with the likes of Uthappa, Chidambaram Gautam, Kunal Kapoor and Karun Nair, all of whom have also been among runs.
Captain Vinay Kumar is leading from the front, having picked up 26 wickets including a six-wicket haul in the second innings of Bengal at Eden Gardens.
Sreenath Aravind has given Vinay good support by collecting 22 wickets, though he did not play the last match.
Apart from a match-haul of eight wickets against Railways, India discard Abhimanyu Mithun has taken nine wickets in last three innings he bowled.
