"Despite a prolonged period of turmoil in the Valley, Kashmiri youth have demonstrated an indomitable spirit of resilience to become achievers in their respective fields and it is this trait of theirs that will shape a bright future for our state and its people," Omar said.
Omar also released an amount of Rs two lakh to the youth for the tournament.
The former chief minister exhorted the youth to take a leading role in evolving solutions to the social, political and economic challenges faced by the state.
