Katy Perry wins RIAA honour for digital sales

Pop star Katy Perry has picked up another major accolade after becoming the Recording Industry Association of America's highest-selling digital act.
The 29-year-old 'Roar' singer has sold over 72 million digital singles to date and she was presented with an award to mark the feat at Washington, DC's Verizon Center, reported Billboard magazine.
With 72 million digital singles to her name, Perry becomes the first artist to surpass 70 million.
She is currently 20 million sales ahead of any other artist.
