Kaza Vinayak Sharma of Andhra Pradesh is in line for a double as he booked his place in the men's singles final of the P V Vishwanath Memorial AITA ranking tennis tournament here on Friday.
He will take on qualifier Vasisht Cherukupalli in the summit clash of the tournament organised by the MPTA at the KTC courts.
In the semifinals, top-seeded Sharma trounced Arjun Mahadevan 6-0, 6-1 while Vashist too didn't have much difficulty beating Kavin Masilamni 6-1, 6-2.
Sharma had won the doubles title, partnering Neeraj Elangovan to a 7-6(2), 6-1 win over Irfan and Ihsan Hussain.
Results: Women's singles (semifinal): Nithyaraj Baburaj beat Arthi Muiyan 6-2, 6-4; Sai Samhitha beat Anusha Kondaveti 6-1, 6-1.
Women's doubles final: Arthi Muniyan & Sai Smhitha beat Megha Muthukumar & Sai Avanthika 6-4, 6-2.
