He said it would take about two years to build a stadium of international standard that could accommodate 16,000 spectators.
Cricket enthusiasts in the city have been demanding a stadium, Patel told reporters here yesterday adding that a 10-acre government land at Bondel was suited for the purpose.
Patel inspected the land along with Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim and other officials.
Ibrahim said the proposal would be placed before district in charge Minister B Ramanath Rai.
