The judge who pronounced the judgement yesterday also ordered the accused to pay a fine of Rs 10,000, according to a CBI release issued here today.
According to the release, the accused D Kalyani Sundar, was caught red handed when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant T Santosh Kumar, who was a contractual primary teacher at Eluru Kendriya Vidyalaya, through his attender G A Swamy.
After regular trial, the court convicted the accused Kalyani Sundar for offences punishable under Section 7 and Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(a)&(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, the release said.
