Atletico de Kolkata may be high on home support but their Sunday opponents Kerala Blasters FC would not find themselves too out-of-place either with the X-factor in Trevor James Morgan, the highly successful former East Bengal coach.
Well aware that the Englishman is still a hot property among a section of East Bengal fans, KBFC assistant coach Morgan is counting on the support in their bid for a maiden win in the Indian Super League.
"I know ATK have got some fanbase from Mohun Bagan and East Bengal but I know that there's a section of fans in East Bengal, who would root for me. We maybe underdogs but we are able to create upsets."
Cavin Lobo's brace secured a comeback 2-1 win for ATK in Goa yesterday and Morgan was mightily suprised with the forward who would not rank even in starting XI during his East Bengal stint.
"Lobo under me didn't score but he showed class... We'll certainly have our plans ready for him but at the same time we are not singling out anyone in particular. It's a team game afterall."
KBFC have suffered two consecutive defeats both in away matches as they are yet to play at home but Morgan said they have it in them to make a comeback.
Bolstered by their 3-0 win in a friendly here at the SAI ground, Morgan said: "We hardly got any practice... But boys are looking fine, the results don't matter what matters is the performance. I'm hopeful of doing well.
