Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Eknath Khadse today said that he did not want to give importance to MNS president Raj Thackeray's allegations that he "settles" issues with the government.
"I do not want to give much importance to the allegations levelled by Raj Thackeray. I would have understood if he had substantiated the allegations," Khadse told reporters today.
About Thackeray's charge that Khadse alone asked questions on behalf of all opposition parties, he said that, "As Leader of Opposition, I was trying to bring unity of all opposition parties and also take MNS together. It helps if the Opposition fights together".
Khadse also alleged that MNS was trying to strengthen the government by not joining with opposition parties.
"We (Sena-BJP) have 93 MLAs while MNS has 11. We suspect that they want to strengthen the government. If an opposition party itself wants to oppose the Opposition then we doubt their intentions," he said.
Thackeray had alleged yesterday that opposition parties raise questions during the day while in the evening they agree on a "settlement".
"I know how 'settlements' are made of issues affecting people but MNS does not believe in such ways. We will ourselves take on the government this time," he had said.
