Kharge given additional charge of Social Justice

Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge was tonight given additional charge of Social Justice and Empowerment ministry following the resignation of Kumari Selja.
President Pranab Mukherjee, as advised by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, accepted the Selja's resignation with immediate effect, Rashtrpati Bhawan spokeperson said.
Selja, who has been nominated as a candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections, quit the Union Council of Ministers to work for Congress.
