Khattar approves amendment in Haryana MC election rules

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved the amendment in Haryana Municipal Corporation Election Rules 1994 and Municipal Election Rules 1978.
From now on, the candidates contesting the election for the seats of Municipal Corporations, Councils and Committees would have to furnish information about their movable or immovable property, educational qualification, details of profession or occupation.
Permanent Account Number, status of filing of Income tax return and any liabilities or dues to public financial institutions and government with requisite affidavit would have to be submitted.
They would also have to furnish details if any about criminal background as per the directions of Election Commission of India, a Haryana Government release said here today.
The release said that these rules would be called the Haryana Municipal Corporation Election (Amendment) Rules, 2014.
