Superintendent of Police Indrajeet Mahatha said Mangru Munda alias Arjun Munda, who was the body guard of 'Area Commander' Kundan Pahan, and 36-year-old Sombari Mundari were arrested during a checking drive from Kharswan.
Mahatha said Munda, who had also been injured in that encounter in Khunti district, admitted that they were part of the outfit.
A Maoist Ultra, identified as 'area commander' Chandan ji, was killed in the encounter and the SSP Prabhat Kumar was injured.
Munda informed interrogators that another Ultra, Lakhan Munda, also suffered bullet injury during the encounter but escaped. However, he said, he was not aware about Lakhan's whereabouts.
A pistol loaded with two rounds and naxal literature were seized from them, Mahatha said.
