Kidnapped youth recovered

A 20-year-old youth allegedly
kidnapped on April 24 from Zirakpur in Mohali was recovered today, police said.
Kawaljit Singh alias Prince, a resident of Lohgarh Park Zirakpur was allegedly abducted by four persons identified as Satnam Singh, Harcharan Singh, Balraj Singh and Ajaib Singh on April 24, Diljinder Singh Dhillon, SSP Batala said.
Kawaljit's mother Jaswinder Kaur and his sister Harnmandip Kaur were tied in their room by the accused who also decamped them of jewellery, laptop, mobile phones and Rs 40,000 in cash, the SSP said, adding, the kidnappers had demanded Rs 2 lakh as ransom.
Following the complaint, various police teams conducted raids at one Gurudev Singh's place at Lodhinangal village to recover Kawaljit.

While Ajaib was arrested, the remaining kidnappers managed to escape, he said.
Dhillon claimed that Satnam Singh used to live as tenant in the house of Jaswinder Kaur where he hatched a conspiracy to kidnap Kawaljit Singh.
Jaswinder Kaur was a travel agent and Satnam had paid Rs 4.50 lakh to her for sending him abroad. As he could not get visa, he decided to kidnap her son to recover his money, police said.
