The 24-year-old star joins "Mozart in the Jungle" actor Gael Garcia Bernal in the film, which will be also written by Cuaron, reported Variety.
The film is a co-production between Lantica Pictures and Mark Amin's Sobini Films and re-imagines the classic legend based on the beloved masked vigilante.
Clemons was recently cast as the female lead in the upcoming The Flash movie. She will play the character of Irish West opposite Ezra Miller, who is reprising his "Justice League" superhero role of Barry Allen aka The Flash.
