Glenn Maxwell scored a brisk 81-ball 31, while Axar Patel smashed his way to 34 off just 17 deliveries.
While Maxwell hit three sixes and a boundary, Axar struck three fours and two maximums at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
Veteran Amla found the fence nine times and cleared it twice.
