The Kinner Kailash pilgrimage has been suspended till furthers orders due to heavy rains and flash floods in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, an official said today.
The move came a day after two pilgrims were swept away by flash floods in Kangrang Nullah. A large number of devotees are stranded on the way to the Kinnaur Kailash mountain, the official said.
"The yatra has been suspended till further orders due to heavy rainfall and flash floods," Officiating Deputy Commissioner, Kinnaur, Avninder Kumar said.
The Himachal Pradesh Police and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police have rescued 276 pilgrims, who were stranded on the way to the Kinnaur Kailash mountain, he said.
