The Centre today informed Parliament that it has asked states to take stringent action against those who have allegedly duped job seekers through an agency named 'Kisan Seva Kendra'.

In a written reply to Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Agriculture Parshottam Rupala said the government has received complaints that Kisan Seva Kendra has allegedly duped job seekers in the name of Kisan Call Centre scheme.

The government has asked states to investigate the matter and take stringent action against the fraudsters, he said.

"The complainants have also been asked to file FIR with local authorities. An alert has also been uploaded on the department's website as a caution to the general public," he said.

Sharing about the agency's modus operandi, the minister said as reported by complainants, the agency issued advertisements having strong resemblance with the government's scheme Kisan Call Centre.

Fake website addresses with government logos were given to lend credence to such bogus advertisements. The gullible youth were asked to contact on a given telephone number and a telephonic interview was then carried out, he said.

Thereafter, the candidate was declared selected and he/she was asked to deposit a security amount in a given bank account number.

A fake offer letter was issued simultaneously, he added.
