Tirupur Exporters' Association (TEA) today thanked the Tamil Nadu government for providing exemption from generation of e-way bill for job work and service relating to yarn, fabrics and garments.
In a press release here, the president of the association Raja M Shanmugham said he has sent a letter to chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to thank him for conceding the request of the association in this regard.
Tirupur knitwear cluster produces Rs 42,000 crore worth of garments annually because of the support from job working units, the release said.
Also, letters have been sent to thank commercial taxes minister K C Veeramani and principal secretary and commissioner of state tax T V Somanathan for their support to the knitwear business, it added.
