'Kochadaiiyaan' collects Rs 42 Crore worldwide

Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth's latest film 'Kochadaiiyaan' has generated collection of Rs 42 crore worldwide in the opening week, producers said today.
"Eros International Media Ltd, has announced a blockbuster opening of 'Kochadaiiyaan - The Legend' at the box office with Rs 42 crore gross worldwide," Eros International, the producers of the movie said in a statement.
Eros International released the film in 2D and 3D on May 23 in six languages in over 3,000 screens worldwide.
Directed by Rajinikanth's daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth, the movie has grossed collection of Rs 30 crore in India and Rs 12 crore overseas, it said.

"We are delighted with the response to the film which has been a labour of love over the last two years. We thank the critics and the audiences that have helped build such a momentum to the film", Eros International Plc., CEO and Managing Director, Jyoti Deshpande said.
'Kochadaiiyan: The Legend' is the first motion capture film to be released in six Indian languages. The music has been composed by Oscar winner A R Rahman and MediaOne Global Entertainment and Eros International have produced it.
