Kolkata, Guwahati freight rates fall on excess trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section to Kolkata, Guwahati and Kochi declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess positions of trucks.
Transporters said easy availability of trucks in the markets against restricted cargo movements, led to the fall in freight rates for select destinations.
Capital to Kochi, Guwahati and Kolkata freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 70,000, Rs 54,000 and Rs 30,000.
