Hours after Principal Secretary of Rajendra Kumar was quizzed by CBI in a case of alleged corruption, he met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence in North Delhi's Civil Line area last night.
Sources said that Kumar, along with senior lawyer H S Phoolka, who is associated with Aam Aadmi Party, reached the Chief Minister house situated on Flagstaff Road and apprised him about CBI's action.
"Rajendra Kumar had met Kejriwal last night after he was questioned by CBI officials. In the meeting, Kumar urged the CM not to defend him as he himself will handle the issue," sources also said.
The meeting between Kumar and Kejriwal had lasted for around half an hour, they said.
Yesterday, Phoolka had described CBI's action against Kumar as "politically motivated" and said his client was being made a "scape goat".
The Principal Secretary of the Delhi Chief Minister was today also quizzed by CBI sleuths in the corruption case.
The probe agency's action yesterday evoked sharp reaction from Kejriwal who accused it of searching files "unrelated" to the probe against Kumar and claimed that a file relating to DDCA was scrutinised by it.
