Kumbh Mela:14 chain-snatching cases reported on 2nd royal bath

As many as 14 alleged incidents of chain-snatching, apart from other thefts of cash and valuables, belonging to the devotees attending the ongoing Kumbh Mela here were reported on the second day of 'shahi snan' (royal bath), police said today.
Of the 14 cases of chain-snatching registered, 10 were lodged at Panchavati police station, two at Adgaon, while one case each was registered at Sarkarwada and Ambad police stations, police said.
Chains, cash, cameras, mobile phones, worth about Rs 12 lakh were stolen by the thieves, who targeted the unsuspecting pilgrims, who arrived in the city from different parts of the country, they said.
