Kumki brought to guide elephants away to jungles

The forest department officials today brought a kumki (tamed elephant) to guide three elephants, which were creating panic for the last one week in Periyanaichenpalayam and its surroundings on the outskrits, to forests.
The elephants were moving in the rural limits for the last one week, damaging crops and ration articles from a shop.
Though the department officials took efforts to scare away them to the jungle by bursting crackers, one of the pachyderms attacked and killed a 85-year old woman and injured another 70-year-old woman early yesterday.
Despite various steps, the elephants are still moving around and also coming to the human habitats, creating panic among the villagers.

In order to guide these wild elephants to forest, the department brought Sujay, a kumki, this morning.
