Business activities resumed in Gujarat today to mark occasion 'Labh Pancham', observed on the fifth day after celebration of festival Diwali.
According to traders, the occasion is considered as an auspicious day to start new business and lock fresh deals for the year ahead.
Secretary, Federation of Gujarat Industries, Nilesh Patel said that the occasion (Labh Pancham) is a lucky day to start business and is widely observed by the trading community. It is celebrated by worshipping ledgers and offering prayer to Goddess Laxmi.
Children observe the day as 'gyan pancham' and worship Goddess Saraswati at various temples.
