A labourer was injured in a bomb explosion here in West Bengal's Nadia district Friday, police said.
The labourer identified as Ratan De was engaged in earthen work at Kalyani's Kanthaltala area to construct a road when his spade hit a sack and it exploded, they said.
The injured labourer was admitted to Kalyani JNM Hospital with injuries, the police said.
A police officer said the sack which was under the ground contained bombs and it exploded.
The officer said police was investigating the matter.
Kalyani Municipality councillor Jharna Roy said "the road construction work was going on since last three days. Ten labourers were engaged in the job. Ratan De was one of them. During work his spade hit a sack under the ground and it exploded leaving him injured.
