Lady Supervisor arrested on charges of bribery

A Lady Supervisor of Department of Woman and Child Development has been arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 for sanctioning a bill of an anganwadi center in Baran district.
Chandra Prabha Ojha who was posted at Chopabarode area of Baran district was arrested yesterday from her house while accepting the bribe, said Neeraj Gupta, CI, ACB Baran.
"The accused had demanded 30 per cent of the total billing amount of nutrient diet and baby mix packets worth Rs 25,317 and Rs 6,000 from Anganwadi worker Hemlata Gautam, posted in Harnavadashahaji," he said.

The Anganwadi worker lodged a complaint regarding the matter on Monday following which verification was carried out during which she was asked to pay a bribe of Rs 4,000 to Ojha.
The accused called the Anganwadi worker to pay the remaining bribe amount at her house following which she was arrested, he said.
The bribe amount of Rs 5000 and another Rs 4000, accepted at the time of verification of the complaint was also recovered from her room, the CI said.
Ojha has been sent to judicial custody till October 27.
