Maharashtra ACB today registered an FIR against Bhujbal and five others in connection with alleged corruption in awarding of some contracts by PWD (during Congress-NCP rule), including the one for construction of New Maharashtra Sadan (Government guest office) in New Delhi.
Asked about the matter, Maharashtra Minister of State for Home (Urban) Ranjit Patil tonight said everyone was equal before law, which will take its own course in the graft case.
To a question about manpower shortage in the Thane police, the minister said the problem was not limited to the city alone and it existed through the state.
Patil said he and Thane Guardian Minister Ekanth Shinde would soon meet Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and discuss the issue.
Inaugurating the refurbished control room, Shinde said there was a lot of disparity in the strength of Mumbai and Thane police force.
He suggested making CCTV installation compulsory in housing complexes and surrounding areas to check crime.
