A group of lawyers allegedly beat up a policeman today at the local court complex here when he was taking some undertrials for a hearing, police said.
According to police, six undertrials were being escorted by a team from Sahibabad police station to the court when the lawyer of one of them tried to exchange a few words with his client, to which one of the policemen raised objections.
But the lawyer then returned with some of his colleagues and attacked the said policemen, identified as Satvir.
Satvir thereafter lodged a complaint against the lawyers at Kavinagar police station although SSP Sachi Ghildiyal later said that the policeman and the accused were trying to come to an understanding in order to close the matter.
