Lead futures fall on low domestic demand

Lead fell 1.79 per cent to Rs 136.80 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced exposure amid a weak trend at the spot markets due to sluggish domestic demand.
In futures trading, lead for delivery in January contract were trading Rs 2.50, or 1.79 per cent, down at Rs 136.80 per kg in a business turnover of 21 lots.
Metal for delivery in December fell by Rs 2.30, or 1.66 per cent, to trade at Rs 136.35 per kg in 611 lots.
Besides a weak demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market weighed on lead futures here, analysts said.
