Refusing to commit if he considered the present trend of Bengali film industry as a real turn-around, Ray's favourite actor, thespian Soumitra Chatterjee today said but he believed in keeping himself busy in all the genres of flicks.
Averse to tag a label like turnaround or buyoancy to the current spate of releases, including upcoming 'Rupkatha Noy' and 'Kagozer Nouko' by directors of different genres, Soumitra said, "Yes I am involved with the projects of a whole lot of directors."
"But how can I say if a turnaround is taking place or not though many films are being made with varied subjects," the octogenarian said.
Asked about his remarakble fitness level even at this age, Soumitra, who inaugurated OPTM Healthcare, said, "Leading a disciplined life is key to your fitness level and that largely depends on you."
Soumitro, who had turned up in Rituparno Ghosh's film 'Asukh', said with increasing stresses in urban lives, our films are bound to reflect that reality.
National Award winner 'Ranjana Ami Aar Asbona' actor Ushashi Chakraborty, the face of 'wellness' campaign, said "present day Bengali flicks, the characters, are showing how much fitness-cconscious the Gen Y has become. And why youngsters, the urban people cutting across all ages."
Ushashi, who recently turned up in masala film Lattoo, starring Bollywood actor Subrat Dutta, said "I am okay with roles in different genres of films so long I am not reduced to being the eye candy or set-prop. I want substantial roles."
"Nice to learn the clinic will also set up its base in Dubai by this year," Ushashi said. The Kolkata centre is the third in city and ninth in the country. There are OPTM units in United States and Singapore as well.
