The 76-year-old TV veteran will portray the father of Campbell's zombie killer character Ash when the series returns later this year, reported Deadline.
Ted Raimi, who appeared in all three "Evil Dead" movies masterminded by his director brother Sam, will also return to the franchise as Ash's childhood best friend, Chet Kaminski.
The role will reteam actor Raimi with Lucy Lawless - the stars were castmates on "Xena: Warrior Princess".
