The carcass of a one-year-old leopard cub, suspected to have been killed by a wild animal, was found in Chamoli district.
The decomposing carcass was found last evening near Pathialdhar which falls under Gopeshwar Chamoli Municipal Council, assistant divisional forest officer, Surendra Lal said today.
Kedarnath forest division officials have taken the leopard cub for a post-mortem, he said.
Though the exact cause of the cub's death will be clear after the post-mortem report, prima facie it appears to have died while fighting with another wild animal, he said.
