Union Minister E M Sudarsana Natchiappan today suggested DMK to sort out their internal matters before discussing about forming an alliance
"Today in DMK there are more internal party matters that need to be given first preference and should be sorted out," Natchiappan, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry told reporters after inaugurating the 29th edition of India International Leather Fair organised by Indian Trade Promotion Organisation here.
Natchiappan was referring to the recent sibling rivalry that came to fore between DMK Chief M Karunanidhi's eldest son Alagiri and party Treasurer Stalin, following which he was suspended from the DMK after he made some cruel comments against Stalin.
Asked whether the Congress would realign with DMK to contest the forthcoming elections, he said "only after solving their internal party matters.
Natchiappan also indicated that Congress may contest the polls without forming an alliance.
"We are not telling that an alliance is a must for any party. Congress is contesting in many of the states without any alliance. Only in Southern India we are having this alliance system. Congress has a very strong principle and implemented a lot of programmes for the common man. The party will tell about the programmes and get votes..", he said.
