District and session judge N K Tiwari found one Rajeshwar Das guilty in the murder of his cousin Pawan Kumar Das in the Ghoshrama village of Darbhanga district in 1995 and sentenced him to life.
The court also slapped a penalty of Rs 5000 on the convict in default of which he would undergo imprisonment of six more months.
The two men lived in Delhi and had a fight over money following which Rameshwar killed his cousin with an axe.
An FIR was filed with the Hayaghat police station by Pawan's family.
