Additional Session Judge Harpal Singh yesterday while pronouncing the judgement also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused Charanjeet Singh (45), resident of Sosan village.
As per the FIR lodged on August 12, 2010, the accused had picked up the girl playing in front of his house and had taken her inside the house and raped her.
At that time of the incident, the mother, wife and brother of accused were not at home. After committing the crime, he had tried to run away from the house but was caught by the neighbours, who rushed in after hearing the cries of the minor.
