The Birbhum district court today sentenced Bamacharan Ghosh and his accomplice Binay Ghosh for killing Lakshman Pal, a middle-aged man from Mayureswar village in Birbhum in 2011 suspecting of having an extra-marital affair with his (Bamacharan)wife, they said.
Birbhum court's district & sessions judge Mahananda Ghosh sentenced the two to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs ten thousand, government lawyer Syed Samidul Alam said.
In 2011, after his wife committed suicide, Bamacharan assisted by Binay killed Lakshman.
Lakshman's body was recovered on the embankment of river Mayurakshi five days after he had gone missing,they said.
