In one incident that took place at Ranikol Bahiyar village under Mufassil police station in the district where thunderbolt fell on labourers working in an agricultural field, they said.
Two of them, Manoj Chauhan (45) and Sonu Kumar (22) died on the spot while three others were injured and taken to a nearby hospital, DSP(Headquarters),Purnia, Umesh Singh said.
In another incident a 12-year-old boy Roshan Kumar, who was grazing buffaloes, was killed in Ganeshpur village under Krityanand Nagar police station when lightening struck.
