Lightning kills elderly woman, injures three others

A 70-year-old woman died and three others got injured in a lightning strike at Alampur village in Buldhana district of Maharashtra Friday, police said.

The incident occurred around 2.30 pm, they said.

The woman, Sarjabai Bhagat, was working on a farm in the village when it started raining. She and some other farm labourers took shelter in a nearby hut, when the lightning struck it, police said.

According to police, Bhagat died on the spot, while three other farm labourers suffered burn injuries in the incident.
