Liquor vend owner brutally murdered

A liquor vend owner was brutally murdered by three unidentified persons in full public view in Deoban village of the district, police said.
The incident took place last evening when the deceased, Ishwar, and his partner, Rajbir Singh, were having tea in their vend and three assailants barged inside, police said.
According to the complaint filed by Rajbir, the accused who were armed with axes asked him to step aside and they attacked Ishwar, injuring him seriously. They then escaped from the scene of crime in an autorickshaw.
Rajbir called the police and rushed the victim to a hospital, however, Ishwar was declared brought dead by the doctors.

An old enmity is believed to be the cause behind the crime, police said, adding a case had been registered and further investigations were on.
