The Lok Adalat here was inaugurated by Justice Ranjit Singh, chairperson of Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunal (Delhi), and was attended by nearly 1,000 litigants borrowers/ guarantors apart from bankers from states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and UT Chandigarh, a release issued by DRT, Chandigarh, said here.
Justice Singh in his address emphasised on the importance of Lok Adalats and stressed that this system can also save the litigants from unnecessary expenditure on litigation besides helping in reducing pendency of cases in the courts.
Lok Adalats were organised across Punjab including in Amritsar.
